Suspect Arrested in Abilene Stabbing

(ABILENE, TX) – A suspect has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that wounded an Abilene man Friday night.

James Edward Harrell, 42, has been booked into the Taylor County Jail and charged with 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Assault. He’s being held on a $45,000 bond.

The Abilene Police Department says Harrell was arrested during the investigation into a stabbing that happened at a home on 800 block of Jefferson Street around 10:00 p.m.

Emergency crews arrived on scene and discovered a man, 44, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Scanner traffic indicates he was stabbed at least six times.

He was, “was severely injured, barely conscious and unable to speak with police,” an APD press release reads.

The victim was transported to the hospital, but APD has confirmed his condition is stable.
