WATCH: Semi-trailer on fire, Eastbound I-20 closed at Hwy 351

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A semi-trailer caught fire in North Abilene, according to authorities, the truck was traveling from California to Atlanta.

The Abilene Fire Department Battalion Chief Marty Sanders, says the fire might have started “somewhere around the rear axel break area.”

Authorities say the driver detached the truck and tried to put out the fire himself. He then called 911 and crews arrived shortly.

No injuries were reported.
