Breckenridge’s Kevin Bartley is making a seemless transition in first season as Head Coach with the Buccaroos as his team is currently riding a 10-game win streak and is coming off a huge win over district rival and top-ranked Brock. A former coach at Olney and Medina, Bartley is now leading Breckenridge to new heights in 2019.

Kevin Bartley said, “I want my team to hit the ball and I want the team average to be over .300. Right now, we are well over .300 and that’s something I take a lot of pride in.”

Kyler Knight said, “We respect the game of baseball a lot, he respects it. He’s very aggressive on the bases and batting. If we ever mess up, we always go back to the fundamentals and make sure everything is good.”

And while he has certainly made an impact in the dugout, leading the Buckaroos to a 21-2 record, Coach is also making in impact on the field proving to his players he’s still got it.

Bartley said, “I was a speedster when I was playing and I teach these guys how we’re going to read, we’re going to have good judgement when we are out there.”

And whether he coaches from the dugout or behind home plate, Bartley has a established a close-knit group of players clicking on all cylinders as the playoffs draw near.

Jacob Escalon said, “We’re a family, we just mesh together so much and everybody cares about each other on this team. When one guy is down, we’re looking to lift that guy up no matter what it takes. We’re going to come for every team on that list and we’re just going to keep climbing up that list.”
