ACU Football scrimmages Saturday

College football practices are back and the beautiful sound of pads hitting pads have returned at ACU Wildcats took part in a short scrimmage early Saturday morning.

The Wildcats were split into three groups based off of their status in the depth chart and scrimmaged against each other in order for Coach Dorrel and his staff to assess where individual players are at as the opener against Baylor in Waco is only three weeks away

Coach Dorrel says he likes what he saw from the scrimmage and believes the team chemistry will be a key to this teams success throughout the course of the season.

Head Coach Adam Dorrel said, “I was for the most part very pleased today, I thought the enthusiasm was really high, I thought the energy was really good. We went in three groups today, ones, twos, and threes so everybody got reps, I though guys competed at a really high level. What we try to do is simulate a half of football so everybody got about 40 reps. I just feel like our guys are really vesting in each other, spending time together, competing at a high level, and doing it in a really healthy way, they’re rooting for each other, even if it’s someone they’re competing against.”
