ACU shows promise for future

The ACU Wildcats lost on Saturday to Sam Houston State.

That makes five straight losses for the Wildcats.

ACU, though, may have played their best game of the season.

They came from 24 points down to take a four point lead before eventually losing, 44-35.

It was a great game, and for head coach Adam Dorrel, it was affirmation that the program is headed in the right direction.

Dorrel said, “It does, I think if you go back and look, obviously I’ve stated that I thought the seniors played really well but there was a lot of young guys that played really well too. Tracy James, Luke Anthony, the younger receivers played well, defensively had a lot of young guys play really well, the safeties, so yeah it does but like I said, you’ve got to take Saturday and use it as momentum forward and that’s what we’re going to try and do this week.”

ACU finishes up the 2017 season on Saturday against Southland Conference leading Central Arkansas. They start at 3 p.m.
