ACU Women are glad to be back home

The ACU Women are back at home this week for just the second time since December.

It’s been a rough road with five of the first six games in the Southland Conference away from Moody Coliseum, but the Wildcats are making it work.

Head coach Julie Goodenough’s team is 5-1 in the conference.

Now it’s time to bring their good play back home.

Goodenough said, “We’re really excited to be home. We’ve played one game at home in 2019 and so to have two at home this week is pretty special for our players. This is their first week at school since we missed all of last week so now we’ve got to talk about school and basketball. A focus for our coaching staff is just to make sure that our players are ready, they’re game ready, they’ve studied the scouting report, they’re ready to go, and they’re not bouncing off the walls because we’re at home and we’re playing in Moody. The last time we were at home they were just so fired up that it was hard to get them to concentrate on what we were talking about because they were super excited just to be at home.”

The Wildcats are hosting Stephen F. Austin Wednesday night.

The Lady Jacks are undefeated in conference.

ACU is a half game back at 5-1.
