July 12th, 2018 - The Abilene High Eagles have found their man.
The Eagles have hired Justin Reese as the new head boys basketball coach.
Reese is a 1996 graduate from Abilene High who has spent the last nine years as the head coach at Richardson High School in the metroplex.
He has an overall record of 237 and 129 as a head basketball coach.
He's spent 17 years coaching away from his home town, and he's so excited to be back at his alma mater.
"It's a big honor, I can remember being a Johnson Jaguar in elementary school, coming to Abilene High basketball games, later being a point guard here," Justin Reese said.
"To be able to come back to Abilene High School where our family has strong ties, for my kids to be able to come through here and be the head basketball coach where Coach Coppich and Coach Evans and Coach Willis and Coach Heseman have sat is a really big honor and I'm really really excited to be the head guy."
Reese takes over a team that went 15-17 this season.
