Albany’s incredible playoff run leads to Round Rock

Albany has been absolutely dominant throughout the playoffs this season, sweeping every series leading to their matchup with the New Deal Lions in the Region 1-2A Finals this week.

New Deal came out hot on Thursday and held the Lions scoreless for their first loss of the playoffs.

Albany came back in a big way, taking down New Deal with a Friday afternoon sweep.

Josh Dyer said, “It’s awesome, young guys coming in, Cooper, William, all those guys, they always come in clutch and we can trust them, we got all our trust in them. We don’t fold, we don’t give up, we always know there’s hope, we got heart, this team has a lot of heart, we’re never going to give up.”

Ben West said, “I don’t know man, I’m speechless. There’s not much more I can say about it, it doesn’t seem real. I mean we’ve got another week to work and we’ll go play at Round Rock next week.”

Ryan Hill said, “It’s still surreal, it’s going to be like that. I’m going to remember this moment. You hear these stories all the time, little moments with a set back, then you come back bigger than you were before and that’s all I can think about.”
