NEW YORK – Hardin-Simmons’ Vic Rodriguez and Reese Childress have been named to the 2017 Associated Press Little All-America Division III team.

Rodriguez, who earlier in the week was named an All-American by the American Football Coaches Association and won the Rimington Award as the nation’s top center, was named to the first team. He is a senior center out of Mesquite, Texas.

Childress did a little of everything for the Cowboys and was named to the second team as an all-purpose player. Despite playing with a hurt shoulder the last five games of the year, Childress still amassed 49 catches for 658 yards and eight touchdowns at wide receiver and also led the league in punting and averaged 16.9 yards on 15 punt returns with two touchdowns and averaged 24.3 yards per return on kickoffs.

The junior out of Abilene was the first player in ASC history to be named all-conference at three positions in the same season – wide receiver, punter and kick returner.
