It’s no secret 2018 will be quite the transition year for the Cooper Cougars with a new Head Coach in Aaron Roan and a very new look on the offensive side of the ball. Despite the changes, the Cougars head into the 2018 season with a mindset to outwork every other team in the state in order to be successful.
Roan said, “We’ve got to work harder than anybody that we play, that’s something we believe in, that’s an edge that we hope we can have is the work we put in.”
Roan takes over the Cougars in his first season as a Head Coach after working as the Offensive Coordinator for former Head Coach Todd Moebes.
Head Coach Aaron Roan said, “It’s a great opportunity, I’ve been blessed and very appreciative of it and it’s been a lot of fun, a lot of new challenges. Our kids and coaches know the structure of what we’re doing, they could do this stuff without me here, they know what’s going on, that hasn’t changed a lot with the format of practice and everything. We are going to keep doing what we believe in and we’ve got to get better at it.”
Thomas Squyres said, “I have all the confidence in the world in Coach Roan, he’s been here for years and I’m comfortable with him. The core of what we do is the same so there’s not too much of a difference. Same coaching staff, same everything so it has been pretty consistent.”
LaDainian Diaz said, “When it comes to practice, he’s in go-mode. He wants everybody to do what we can do to the best of our abilities.”
