In the second day of the Eula Holiday Classic Eastland took on Martin’s MIll in the morning and Roscoe took on Poolville in the afternoon.

Those were just two of the many games going on over at Eula this week.

In the Mavericks’ game, they trailed at the half as the Mustangs added to their lead. Garrett Celsur drove up top, pulled up behind the line and laced the three.

The Mavs tried to catch up. Parker Roberts drove in and passed across the lane to Tyler Gwinn for the layup.

Later Celsur got the rebound passes up the court on the fast break and Michael Hawes finished it off with the layin for two.

Then a loose ball recovered by Eastland. Passed out to Roberts. It was a three and cuts the Mustangs’ lead to three points, but Eastland wasn’t able to complete the comeback as they fall 48 to 45.

They later took down Jim Ned and will play Friday at noon.

Now to the Roscoe and Poolville game. Both teams looking for their first win of the tournament.

Starting first with the Monarchs. Landon Smith drove the baseline and puts up the one handed lay in.

Roscoe tried to get some more points on the board after a banked shot, but Johnathon Cuellar is there for the putback.

Later the Monarchs had the ball, but Jose Ortega with the steal and fast break down the court, finished with the layup, but Roscoe struggled in this one as Poolville rolls on to win 60-33.

Roscoe will play Clyde at 8 a.m. on Friday.
