Hawley enters the 2018 season with a 5-year playoff streak.
Quay Stokes is the one thing the last four playoff teams have in common.
The record setting quarterback is gone, and senior Dylan Frazier is now the man behind center.
He’s got some big shoes to fill for the Bearcats, but head coach Mitch Ables says he’s doing a good job on and off the field.
Ables said, “He was a good leader for us, good player, and we had a lot of good guys around him too and we’re waiting for those next few leaders to come up and we’ve got a few of them that are ready to go. Dylan took a pretty big leadership role this summer and he’s done great, he’s improved every day, has a great attitude and he’s doing really well.”
Dylan Frazier said, “We’ve never been past the second round in school history so, in my last year, us as seniors really want to get past that and make history. It’s good to know that you’re the leader of the team and that all these guys have a lot of faith in you.”
Six positions are filled with starters on both sides of the ball, so that’ll help Frazier out this year.
The Bearcats scrimmage Haskell on Thursday.
