The Hawley Bearcats and the Stamford Bulldogs are getting ready to meet for the third time this season.
This time it’s in the playoffs, so it counts even more. Hawley won the season series with a pair of wins and they are looking forward to getting on the field with their old rival with a berth in the 4th Round on the line.
Hawley Head Coach Jamie Seago said, “It’s just going to be two District 2A teams going at it again, you hate playing an opponent a third or fourth time, there are no secrets amongst us so I expect a quality ball game.”
Robert Ybarra said, “We’re just going to do what we’ve always done and stay calm through the storm. They’re going to come out punching and we’re going to take them and punch back. We just have got to sit back and hit the ball.”
Colton Marshall said, “We’re just familiar with each other, it’s bragging rights. Whoever wins gets bragging rights for the next year. It’s great once you take down a rival because you get that feeling that you defeated someone you’ve always been close by.”
The Bearcats and Stamford start their series on Friday at 5. Game 2 is Saturday at 1.
The entire series is scheduled to be played in Hermleigh.
