Pied Pipers expecting big things in 2018

The Hamlin Pied Pipers head into this new season with very high expectations, looking to win their district.

That is no easy task as that means they have to take down district projected Albany Week 5, Roscoe and Cross Plains teams that are also projected to go to the postseason in addition to Hamlin.

However, Hamlin says they are up for the challenge.

Head Coach Russell Lucas said, “To be a district champion in our district, you’re going to have to be able to play great defense, to me that’ll be the key for us to win is to be able to execute offensively, to not turn the ball over, and to play great defense.”

Nathaniel Villanueva said, “Right now, we’re just focused on Anson, taking it one game at a time because Anson’s first and really that’s where all the focus is on. We’ve got to beat them to get to where we want to be.”

Abraham Gonzalez said, “Brotherhood here is something you can’t explain, you just have to experience it, so when people come watch us play you can (say) they really do pick each other up, they really do help each other out. That’s the stuff we do and it just comes naturally, that’s not something we have to work on.”

The Pipers should be a really exciting team to watch in 2018 and keep your calendars open for Week 5 when they head to Albany.

The #5 ranked Lions will take on the Pied Pipers pre-ranked at #12 and that should be a great one to open district play.
