Roan happy with Cougars scrimmage performance

The Cooper Cougars are getting ready to open up the Aaron Roan era on Friday night.

Their only action against some other than  themselves came last Friday against San Angelo Central.

The Bobcats were a good test, and the Cougars got in some good work.

Coach Roan, “What I told our kids before hand was playing with high energy, playing with a high motor, working on execution, and doing what we do. That’s what the focus was going in to the scrimmage, not game planning or anything like that. We’re going to go focus on what we do and get better at what we do. I think we did that. I think we’ve got a lot of room to improve. That’s one good thing about a scrimmage and going up against other speed. We kind of get used to the speed that we are seeing all through the spring and fall, so that’s a good thing we get to see that speed, and our kids get to realize, ‘I’ve got to play fast.'”

The Cougars are at home Friday to take on Keller.

Cooper is 2-1-1 all-time against the Indians.

That game starts at 7:30 p.m.
