Roan is happiest for his players after first win

Cooper head coach Aaron Roan picked up his first win as a head coach on Thursday night with a 48-0 victory over Wylie.

The win helped the Cougars improve to 1-3 on the season.

It also snapped their first three-game losing streak since 2014.

Roan said, “It was our first win. It was one our kids have been working hard to get, and finally we were able to put it all together on Friday night, and do that. It was exciting for those guys putting their work in and seeing the rewards of that, and hopefully, we’ll be able to springboard that into district.”

Cooper is just two days from the start of the games that count.

They open District 2-5A Division I against Monterey on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Lubbock
