The Wylie Bulldogs are set to open 2018 with a home game on Friday night.
Like most Wylie teams, there are a lot of new starters in the line up to start the season.
That means there were questions heading into practice and some of those questions still exist.
We asked head coach Hugh Sandifer and his team if he’s learned anything about his team since spring that maybe he didn’t know.
Sandifer said, “It’s still a very early work in progress, you get one scrimmage and you get a few plays to evaluate kids and a lot of people lose sight of the fact, and we’re trying to make sure our kids understand, the games count in October and November. Everybody wants to win in September but they don’t hand out gold balls in September. Our expectations haven’t changed, really no surprises, we know it’s hard work, we’re playing great teams we’ve just got to go to work, improve our game, and continue this process to get ready for our district.”
Wylie opens the Class 5A era with a tough one at Bulldog Stadium.
They host Georgetown on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
