The Dallas Cowboys started preparing for their first road game of the season on Sunday today at the Ford Center.
Mickey Spagnola was there and has more in the Silver Star Nation report.
Nothing is every easy in the National Football League. The Cowboys knew heading into this season they were going to be without four of their defensive backs from last season.
They left in free agency.
Now, the problem is compounded. Starting cornerback Orlando Scandrick, the most experienced corner on the team, fractured the third metacarpal on his left hand Sunday against the New York Giants.
He had surgery on Monday.
They implanted a plate on that bone to facilitate the healing. He has stitches, and the wound is right here on the back of hand, so he has the use of his fingers.
They have to make sure he does nothing to break that incision. It could cause an infection.
Scandrick is likely going to miss this game for sure, and then next week they have to see how the hand heals, meaning, the skin.
They will make that decision heading toward the third game.
Also missing practice is Terrence Williams. He’s got a sprained ankle. They will continue to check on him day to day to see how he’s doing.
For the Silver Star Nation, I’m Mickey Spagnola here at the Ford Center.
