While the Philadelphia Eagles had everyone at practice on Wednesday, the Cowboys had five starters that did not practice; Dan Bailey, Dez Bryant, Jeff Heath, Sean Lee, and Tyron Smith.
The Cowboys are hoping Tyron Smith will be ready to go by Sunday, but they are preparing as if they won’t be, and if they move on from a struggling Chaz Green, the guy up will be Byron Bell, Greenville, Texas.
Byron Bell said, “I just come off the ball and get to the junction point and just be physical. Just using my hands and giving them a strike. When I get in trouble, is when I play complacent, you know, timid.”
While Byron Bell is a veteran, he hasn’t started a game since he was with the Tennessee Titans in 2015. He missed all of last season with an injury.
The Cowboys signed him as a free agent.
He’s only played those two series against the Falcons.
This will be his first extended playing time since the Cowboys signed him.
