Snyder head football coach and athletic director Cory Mandrell is leaving his alma mater to take the same job at Bowie High School.

Mandrell was the head coach for the Tigers for three seasons with an overall record of 11-20 and led them to the playoffs three times.

The 2018 season was his best in Snyder.

They were 8-2 in the regular season, which was the school’s best since 2011, and the Tigers finished in second place in district play.

Mandrell was never able to get the Tigers past the first round of the playoffs.

He takes over a program in Bowie that hasn’t had a winning record since the 2012 season.
