The ACU Wildcats are 0-2, which was expected, after the starting the season with a pair of Mountain West opponents.
You can put all of that in the rear view now, though, because the day the school spent the last three years getting ready for is finally here.
The Wildcats are set to play their home opener on campus on Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium.
It’s the first game on campus at ACU since the ’50’s, and they are ready to get it going.
“I told our staff Monday morning at our staff meeting that this is probably week of all of our careers,” Lee De Leon said. “Saturday’s going to be an unforgettable moment for all of us and we’re going to look back on this when we’re 80 years old and talk about the time that we opened up a brand new on campus beautiful Wildcat stadium.”
“I’d be lying to you if I told you if I told you we weren’t very excited,” Adam Dorrel said.
“I’m personally excited, I can remember that first week of being here and taking the job of everything, I just kept thinking about this day, this week.”
The opener on Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium is Saturday at 6 PM against Houston Baptist.
This is also the Wildcats’ Southland Conference opener.
