This Morning: A very warm start to the day this morning with temperatures ranging from the lower 70s to the upper 70s in the northern Big Country. We are seeing a few clouds across the region from a complex of showers and thunderstorms in the panhandle, however we will remain dry today. Winds are out of the south only around 5 to 15 mph. Expect to hang onto mostly sunny skies this morning as winds pick up briefly, as high as 20 mph before calming down again this afternoon.
This Afternoon: Feeling very Summer-like this afternoon as highs climb into the mid and upper 90s. With the humidity out there, heat indices will be as high as 100°+ this afternoon, so be sure to stay and cool and hydrated if you plan on being outdoors! Skies will remain sunny to mostly sunny today with southerly winds around 5 to 15 mph.
Tonight: Staying warm tonight with lows only cooling down into the mid 70s with mostly clear skies. Humidity will stick around through the overnight too as winds stay out of the south around 5 to 15 mph.
Looking Ahead: Temperatures stay in the mid and upper 90s through Sunday as heat indices will still be as high as 100°+ with mostly sunny skies. There is a 10% chance for rain starting tomorrow through Sunday as well, but better rain chances move in Sunday night as a cold front approaches the Big Country, moving through on Monday when we’ll see a 20% chance for rain and thunderstorms. The front will drop temperatures into the lower 90s through the middle of next week.
