More seasonal weather continues to return to the Big Country today as highs warm back into the low and mid 80s under mostly sunny skies. A couple isolated showers will be possible this afternoon mainly along and south of I-20. A clap of thunder may be possible. Rain chances end by this evening as clear skies set in for the overnight. Temperatures continue to warm into the mid and upper 80s the rest of the week before active weather returns Friday night.
The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted parts of West Texas Friday night and West Texas into Central Texas for Saturday at risk for severe weather. Current forecast models suggest storms will initiate along a dry line in the Panhandle and travel eastward into the Big Country by late Friday night into Saturday morning and early afternoon. High winds, large hail and even a few tornadoes will be possible. Flooding will also be a concern with isolated areas receiving around 1″ of rain.
Another chance for severe weather is possible across parts of the Big Country Monday.
