This Morning: Starting out the day on the warm side again, especially north of I-20 where temperatures are in the 80s. Mainly in the mid and upper 70s south of I-20. Expect skies to be mostly clear to sunny to get out the door as southerly winds are still on the breezy side, but will start to lighten up this morning.
This Afternoon: Highs climb into the upper 90s once again this afternoon, however it looks like most of us will stay out of the triple-digits this afternoon. 98° for a high in Abilene. We’ll see sunny to mostly sunny skies through the day today as southeasterly winds stay around 5 to 15 mph. A cold front will stall today along the Red River Valley that could bring a few more clouds into the northern Big Country, however won’t bring us any relief in temperatures, and doesn’t look to bring any chances for rain to our area.
Tonight: Skies will remain clear as we head into the overnight with temperatures falling into the mid 70s by tomorrow morning as winds stay out of the south around 5 to 15 mph.
Looking Ahead: We continue this summer heat wave as temperatures stay 5° to 8° above average through Labor Day weekend. A few changes start on Labor Day though as highs stay in the mid 90s and continue into the mid and lower 90s by the middle of next week with low confidence in rain chances starting Tuesday.
