Today will be another beautiiful day for us here in the Big Country. High temperatures will top out in the middle 80's under mostly sunny skies. Winds will come from the south at 10-15 MPH. Overnight temperatures will fall to the middle to upper 60's under partly clear skies. Winds will come from the south at 10-15 MPH.
The K-TAB weather center center has issued *WEATHER ALERT DAYS* for both Friday and Saturday while putting an emphasie on the Friday night though Saturday morning time frame. The SPC has issued a *ENHANCED RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS* for this time period. All modes of severe weather will be possible. These include very large hail, damaging winds, flash flooding, and tornadoes. A dry line will mix to the west of the forecast area Friday afternoon initiating discrete severe thunderstorms. As they moved to the east, into our area, they will encounter a capping inversion which will weaken the thunderstorms. So during this time frame the threat for severe thunderstorms will exist, but the greater threat will come Friday night into Saturday morning when a upper level low along with a cold front move though. Numerous severe storms will be possible during this time. A few severe storms may form in the afternoon hours on Saturday ahead of the cold front. Once the cold front moves through more stable air will be in place.
For Sunday things clear out nice as temperatures rise to the lower 90's.
The severe weather threat will return for Monday and Tuesday next week. Then Wednesday looks to be mostly sunny as more stable air moves in.
