This Morning: Temperatures are in the lower 70s across the Big Country this morning with mostly clear skies and a light, southerly wind. Humidity is not as high this morning. Skies will remain mostly sunny with a southeasterly wind around 5 to 15 mph.
This Afternoon: Rain and thunderstorms take a break for your Wednesday afternoon. If we see any rain today, it will be in the far eastern Big Country - eastern portions of Eastland, Stephens and Comanche County. Skies will remain mostly sunny today as temperatures climb back into the mid and upper 90s to the north. 94° for a high in Abilene, which is actually our normal high for this time of year. Winds will stay out of the southeast around 5 to 15 mph. A perfect day to get outside and enjoy the day!
Tonight: Skies will stay mostly clear tonight and dry as lows cool down into the mid and lower 70s again. May be a bit on the muggy side overnight.
Looking Ahead: Rain and thunderstorm chances return for Thursday and Friday. There is a 20% chance for scattered showers and storms Thursday through Friday as highs stay in the mid 90s. By the weekend though, high pressure continues to build over us putting the rain chances away and warming temperatures back into the upper 90s with sunny skies this weekend. Staying hot and sunny as we head through next week.
